The History of Michel Perchin
In 1995, Renaissance Pen Company acquired the name Michel Perchin and began to produce fine writing instruments and other one-of-a-kind creations. The founder of Renaissance Pen Company, an artist, and entrepreneur began to create and re-create many of the spectacular pieces commissioned over the past decade.
In 2004, a group inspired by the amazing works and accomplishments acquired a majority of Renaissance Pen Company (Michel Perchin). This group is headed by Abel Bullock the current President of Michel Perchin and is focused on creating these most marvelous writing instruments, and expanding operations into other products and one-of-a-kind pieces. The first of these creations was the famous blue and gold ribbed writing instrument inspired by the mysterious Blue and Gold Ribbed egg. Many experts believe that this egg was created before 1899; however, the egg’s exact date of development, and intended recipient are still speculated by Faberge experts.
This Faberge egg is four inches high in solid gold, (guilloche) engraved, and then enameled in rich blue enamel. It opens to reveal its treasure: a hard stone carved rabbit. The collection of Faberge Imperial Eggs, including the Blue and Gold Ribbed, established Peter Carl Faberge and Michel Perchin as two of the greatest artists in jewelry history.
Michel Perchin, the man who headed Peter Carl Faberge’s workshop from 1885 to 1903, was a self-taught goldsmith from a peasant background. It was Perchin who created the Imperial Easter Eggs, as well as many other great works that have become the hallmark of the Faberge brand. His leadership of the inner circle of Faberge artisans helped to firm its position as the Jeweler of Russian Royalty.
The legendary Michel Perchin inspires our inspiration and love for these amazing writing instruments. All of our creations are in the memory of his great craftsmanship, innovation, and leadership. |
