Anonimo research shows that the OX-PRO process represents the state of the art for surface treatment for watch cases.

Repeated testing has produced exciting results:

1. Continuous exposure of the watch case to everyday wear and tear produced no loss to the OX-PRO finish or discoloration.

2. Capability of the watch case to take the normal impacts and exposure associated with sports watches without resulting in the exposure of the base metal as has been the history with other case finishing processes.

3. Restoration and refurbishment of the watch to new condition after many years of wear and tear for a fraction of the cost to PVD or similar treatment processes.

Anonimo continues to be devoted to remarkable innovations in the world of unique mechanical timepieces and the OX-PRO surface treatment process, furthers our commitment to on going research and development in this field.

OX-PRO is an oxidation process on the watch case surface: tested and produced for military purposes, after 14 steps of production, the process modifies the surface molecules of stainless steel causing them to become darker and obtain a warm black color.

Each time our process is completed, the tone of the black color can vary but always retains the warmth and beauty of the smooth special steel which is manufactured using the principles of the art of Florentine watch making.

Until now this process and result was only available on specific military instruments or optical tool, (created by a famous Florence based manufacturer), or on small weapons such as knives designed for military assault teams (Lagunari Italian Navy Seals or Folgore Air born soldiers).

The original PVD process producing a black watch finish has always been associated with the history of Florentine watch making, and we have continued to receive requests for such a watch. However, it was the vision and challenge that Anonimo develop a new process that would stand up to the everyday physical use that our watches have become famous for without the same problems inherent to the original process. Therefore the development of the OX-PRO process provided the solution and the opportunity to remove the problems realized in the past. This has allowed Anonimo to again produce a truly unique and Florentine watch case that embraces our core principle, to create value, function and style.
